Christian Community Governance

The Christian Community is a self-governing entity. We follow a governance model which has been agreed upon by Community members. We elect a Community Leadership Team whose members serve for staggered terms, and we hold participatory Community meetings to which all Community members are invited.

Current Governance Model
Our current governance model was officially adopted by the Community in June 2002. Major changes from the previous model (pre-2002) include a more formal governance structure, a more robust and powerful leadership team, and a better-defined decision-making process.

Proposed Changes to Governance Model - Fall 2008
Proposed changes to our governance model are under review by the Community. Changes include modifications to the structure of the governance team as well as modifications to the election process for governance team members.

Community Meetings
The CLT meets as needed to conduct its internal business, and any Community member is welcome to attend a CLT meeting, with the occasional exception in which part or all of a CLT meeting may be a closed session to allow for discussion and resolution of sensitive issues.

General Community meetings are held as needed, but usually at least twice per year. Meetings are typically held immediately following a Sunday liturgy. Please consult the
Governance Model for additional information about Community meetings.
